High School Volunteer Internship Program
Make a Difference in Your Community
Are you a high school junior or senior (16years old or older) who is passionate about serving your community while earning student volunteer hours?
The Bowie Food Pantry’s Volunteer Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit food services while making a meaningful impact on the lives of local families.
This semester-long internship allows students to work alongside pantry staff and dedicated volunteers while developing valuable leadership, communication, teamwork and organizational skills.

Program Highlights
- Quarterly -12 weeks
-October through December
-February through April
-May through August (Summer Session)

Internship Requirements
Applicants must:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be a high school junior or senior
- Must live in Prince George’s County, Maryland
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Commit to volunteering throughout the quarter applied for
- Have availability between 11am and 1pm
- Volunteer 2-3 days per week for 2 hours
- Be dependable, motivated and committed to serving the community
- Be physically able to remain on their feet for extended periods and safely lift up to 20 pounds.
- Have reliable transportation
Application Process
Applications open September 1, 2026 for first Quarter
To apply, students must submit:
- A completed internship application
- One letter of recommendation from a teach, coach or guidance counselor
Because space is limited, completion of application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview.
